Spring had officially sprung whenever we picked these barrels. The weather was starting to warm up, and the barrel wood was slowly expanding to prepare for the lengthy summer heat in the bluegrass. To follow up Batch #1, we wanted to incorporate more barrels into the blend while still maintaining our distinct flavor profile. In Batch #2, you’ll find a bold nose with prominent notes of toasted grain, dulce de leche, and a bright citrus that cuts through the blend. As for the palate, this batch features a sweet oak, black cherries, and hazelnuts, before fading into a slightly smoky, refreshing, and short finish. We’ve been looking ahead to the future now that production of The Bond is in full-swing, hence the name “Fourward Thinking.” – LB
